Purple Shampoo

In today’s times, we gals crave the platinum blonde hair but do we know how to maintain it? Maintaining any hair color requires time and dedication and I want to share with you what I do to keep my hair from looking like the end of a broom stick! I am sure you have all heard the saying, “you get what you pay for.” Well it’s true, sort of…… I don’t think you have to promise to give your first born child in order to achieve a certain hair color. This has not been my first rodeo in attempts to go blonde. I have paid anywhere from $60 – $100 per visit. It is true that if you have virgin hair it is a lot easier to achieve your desired color, however, you WILL NOT get it the first time around.

My hair has been a work in progress and to this day it is still a little warm/brassy in some areas. I visit with my cute hair stylist Emily and we worked together to achieve what I like to think is pretty darn platinum blonde! Although my hair was bleached and toner was added to give it that color effect I so strongly desired, toner doesn’t not last FOREVER. (Sad I know!) This is where P U R P L E shampoo comes in to play. I have used two different types of purple shampoo and I have got to say, you can clearly see the difference in product value!

I was first using Clairol Shimmer Lights Shampoo and although it worked ok, I felt I was constantly having to use it in order for it to pull some of the copper color out of my hair. Now, my mind was truly blown away when I tried the Redken Color Extend Blondage Color! I tried this bad boy once and I was blown away with how bright and blonde my hair turned out! To the point where my hair had hints of purple. There is a difference in the price, hence the “sort of” I mentioned earlier. I will describe the Pros and Cons of each product.

These are my opinions and results will vary. I am not discrediting any of the products as I will still continue to use both as needed!
